Schedules are released by ~1 week prior to each competition weekend.
Additional scheduled games will be communicated ~1 week in advance.
At Ontario Elite, our Rep Basketball programs require a commitment of 2-3 practices per week and weekend games or tournaments. We emphasize dedication to both practice and game schedules to ensure players’ development and team cohesion.
Players are selected through tryouts where our coaches evaluate skills, teamwork, and commitment. We focus on strong basketball fundamentals and personal development, including maintaining a positive attitude. Our goal is to place players in the best situations for their short and long-term development.
Costs for our Rep program include gym rentals, game fees (e.g., league and tournament fees), uniforms, and coaching. Each player will receive a gear package that includes a tracksuit, uniform, backpack, and other items.
Ontario Elite selects competition levels based on the team’s overall assessment. Our Rep teams will compete against quality opponents both locally and potentially provincially, with a focus on challenging players and enhancing their skills.
Our coaching philosophy at Ontario Elite emphasizes skill development, teamwork, discipline, and character building. We aim to create a positive environment that balances competitiveness with personal growth, helping players develop both on and off the court.
We support players’ involvement in multiple sports or activities. However, we ask that players commit fully to our team’s practices and games during the basketball season. Please discuss any potential scheduling conflicts with us.
Playing time and positions at Ontario Elite are based on performance in practices and games, as well as team needs. We strive for fair opportunities for all players while considering team strategy and development.
Ontario Elite offers additional support through in/off-season training, clinics, and resources to enhance basketball skills, fitness, and nutrition. We also provide academic support and mentorship through our tutoring program to help players succeed both on and off the court.
Parents are expected to provide positive support, attend games, and assist with team logistics as needed. We encourage open communication with coaches and a supportive attitude towards the team to foster a positive environment for everyone involved. If any concerns or issues arise, we ask parents to adhere to a 24-hour cooling period before addressing them with coaches or team officials. This allows for thoughtful reflection and constructive dialogue, ensuring a more effective resolution.
